Uzbekistan to provide preferential tickets for intercity transport to certain individuals starting October 1

Starting from October 1, 2026, certain categories of citizens in Uzbekistan will have the right to use preferential tickets in intercity transport.
Disabled war veterans and participants, persons equated to them, as well as citizens suffering from radiation sickness as a result of the Chernobyl accident, will be able to receive tickets for free or with a 50% discount on air, rail and intercity bus transport.
These preferential tickets are issued by Uzbekistan Airways and other local airlines, authorized divisions of Uzbekistan Railways, as well as bus stations and bus stations. Tickets are issued based on data from the Unified National Social Protection information system of the National Agency for Social Protection.
Citizens are required to present only an identity document - an ID card or biometric passport. Tickets are issued for economy fares in air transport, and for economy, place cards or compartment seats in railway transport.
Starting from January 1, 2027, citizens will also have the opportunity to purchase these tickets for free or on preferential terms through the "Social Card" mobile application - "Baraka".
The costs of preferential transport services are covered by the National Agency for Social Protection from the State Budget. The Ministries of Defense, Internal Affairs, Emergencies, and the Pension Fund regularly provide information about persons falling into the preferential category to the agency through the Digital Government.
According to information, in 2025, about 50 thousand persons were issued preferential travel tickets worth a total of 4.3 billion soums by organizations providing transport services.
On August 3, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the presentation of proposals aimed at further improving the social protection system. It also discussed the issues of simplifying the procedure for using preferential transport services and their full digitalization.
