Oxford students arrived in Uzbekistan for language immersion
Oxford University students have arrived in Uzbekistan for a month-long study of the Uzbek language among native speakers, according to Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration Saida Mirziyoyeva.
Oxford University students arrived in Uzbekistan for full immersion in the language. The Uzbek Studies program, which launched at Oxford last October, is actively operating and showing positive results. As part of this initiative, future orientalists not only study the language but also learn about the history and cities of the republic.
"I wish the students success in their studies and interesting discoveries in the richness and richness of the Uzbek language. May our country become truly native and understandable to you!" Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on August 31.
As a reminder, on October 16, 2025, the introduction of the study of modern and ancient Uzbek languages in the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies was announced. During her visit, Saida Mirziyoyeva also viewed the unique exhibits of the Bodleian Library.
Furthermore, during her visit to Oxford, the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration was awarded a university award. Saida Mirziyoyeva said she views this award as recognition by the international community of Uzbekistan's progress in protecting women's rights and empowering women, achieved under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
