In 15 years, the housing area per resident of Uzbekistan has grown from 15 to 19.2 sq. m

In 2025, there was an average of 19.2 sq. m of total housing area per resident of Uzbekistan. Over 15 years, this figure increased by 4.2 sq. m, or 28%, with the most noticeable growth occurring in the period after 2020.

According to the National Statistics Committee, in 2025, the average housing provision for the population of Uzbekistan reached 19.2 sq. m of total area per person.

Over the past 15 years, the figure rose from 15 sq. m in 2010 to 19.2 sq. m in 2025. In other words, there is now 4.2 sq. m more housing per resident — an increase of 28%.

At the same time, the changes occurred unevenly. In 2010–2020, the figure grew by only 1 sq. m — from 15 to 16 sq. m.

Then, the growth rate accelerated significantly. In 2021, housing provision immediately increased to 18.2 sq. m per person, and in 2022, it reached 18.5 sq. m.

After that, the figure continued to grow gradually:

Year 2010 — 15.0 sq. m

Year 2015 — 15.2 sq. m

Year 2020 — 16.0 sq. m

Year 2021 — 18.2 sq. m

Year 2022 — 18.5 sq. m

Year 2023 — 19.0 sq. m

Year 2024 — 18.9 sq. m

Year 2025 — 19.2 sq. m

After a slight decrease in 2024, the figure increased again and in 2025 reached its maximum for the entire period under review.

Overall, statistics show that over 15 years, the average housing area per resident of the country has grown by almost a third.
