The activities of all commercial airlines of Iran will be suspended worldwide. This was announced on September 21 by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

"Starting September 23, all Iranian airlines will cease their operations worldwide," Bessent said in an interview with CNBC.

He explained the substance of the strict sanctions being introduced to isolate Tehran's civil aviation.

According to Bessent, international airports that service Iranian aircraft will be completely cut off from the US banking system. Following this, foreign operators will not be able to refuel Islamic Republic aircraft, allocate landing slots, or sell passenger tickets due to the risk of losing the right to settle accounts in dollars.

Iranian authorities have not yet officially reacted to these planned restrictions. The aviation embargo is being introduced at a time when Washington is increasing economic pressure on Tehran as part of Operation "Economic Wrath".

It has been seven months since the US and Israel declared war against Iran. The war began in late February following coordinated strikes by Washington and Tel Aviv. This situation led to the disruption of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, a continuous exchange of missile strikes in the region, and increased pressure on Iran's commercial and financial routes.

Engine problems occurred, causing severe turbulence in the aircraft cabin. Due to the incident, the plane was turned back to the airport and successfully landed in Mashhad.
