On the President's initiative, the historical film "Shiroq" is being shot.
Film director Muzaffarxon Erkinov, who has directed many historical films such as "Avloniy", "Abdulla Oripov", and "Maxtumquli Firogʻiy", has completed filming the historical movie "Shiroq", commissioned by the Cinematography Agency and dedicated to the courage of the legendary Shiroq, who sacrificed his life for the freedom of the motherland. Based on Resolution No. PQ–209 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 5, 2024, the historical film "SHIROQ" is being produced by the "RAMZ-FILM" film studio on the initiative of the President and by order of the Cinematography Agency under the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan.
This film tells the story of the matchless courage of Shiroq, a national hero who holds a special place in the history of our people and sacrificed his life for the freedom of the Motherland and the liberty of the nation.
Shiroq is a hero who fought against the enemy not only with weapons, but also with intelligence, fortitude, and self-sacrifice. Presenting himself as a person who suffered at the hands of his fellow tribesmen, he leads a large army of the Achaemenid ruler Darius deep into a waterless desert. At the cost of sacrificing his own life, he dooms the invaders' army to destruction and saves his native land from enemy conquest.
The historical legend about Shiroq is given in the work "Stratagems" — "Strategemata" by the ancient Greek author and military historian Polyaenus. The film's screenplay is created based on this very historical source, artisticly interpreting Shiroq's courage, military resourcefulness, and matchless self-sacrifice in defense of the Motherland.
The image of Shiroq has served as a symbol of patriotism, bravery, and fortitude for our people for centuries. For this reason, high values such as loyalty to the Motherland, national pride, respect for the memory of ancestors, and devotion to military duty hold a priority place in the ideological content of the film. The work serves to educate the young generation in the spirit of patriotism and to promote that defending the Motherland is an honorable and sacred duty.
