Portugal national team forward Cristiano Ronaldo has left the national team camp. The footballer announced this on his Instagram page.

According to Ronaldo, he made this decision after the national team head coach's press conference and a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.

"After the national team head coach's press conference and the conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation, I decided to leave the national team camp.

When the time comes, I will tell the truth about what caused me to leave the national team, to which I have always given my all for all Portuguese people. But now is the time to wish good luck to Portugal and to all my teammates without exception," Ronaldo wrote.

For now, no information has been provided on whether the footballer has retired from the national team permanently or has only left the current training camp.

Cristiano Ronaldo has played 234 matches and scored 146 goals for the Portugal national team.
