Octobank cards can now be added to Apple Wallet to pay for purchases. Apple Pay has been launched in Uzbekistan for the first time, and Octobank customers can now also use this service. By adding Visa and Mastercard cards to the Apple Wallet digital wallet, payments can be made both in stores and for online purchases.
Purchases can now be paid for using familiar Apple devices: iPhone or Apple Watch in stores, and iPad or Mac online.
To start using Apple Pay, simply add an Octobank card to Apple Wallet. Card details do not need to be entered manually during payment — confirming the transaction on the device via Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode is sufficient.
In this process, the customer's card data is protected: when a card is added to Apple Wallet, a unique number linked to the specific device — a token — is generated. The actual card details are not transmitted to the seller during payment.
"The development of digital payments in Uzbekistan is closely connected with daily needs — shopping in stores, placing online orders, and paying for services. Our task is to make these routine processes even more convenient for customers. Support for Apple Pay is the next step in developing the customer experience at Octobank, giving cardholders more freedom in choosing their payment method," Octobank representatives noted.
A few months ago, Octobank launched Apple Pay acceptance for businesses as part of its internet acquiring service. Now, this payment method, widely used around the world, is also available to the bank's cardholders. This allows them to make payments quickly, conveniently, and with a high level of security.
