Kyrgyzstan's O!Bank rolls out Apple Pay

O!Bank, the digital banking arm of Kyrgyzstan's ALGA Group, has introduced Apple Pay for its Visa cardholders, thereby broadening the availability of contactless digital payment options within the nation.

This new offering enables O!Bank Visa customers to conduct contactless transactions in retail environments and finalize purchases within applications and online platforms using their Apple devices, such as iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, and Mac.

Apple Pay transactions are secured through Face ID, Touch ID, or the device's passcode. The service comes without any extra charges, and existing Visa card advantages, including up to 2% cashback, are unaffected.

Coinciding with the launch, O!Bank was acknowledged by Visa for bringing Apple Pay to Kyrgyzstan. The company stated that this recognition highlights the bank's role in advancing digital payments, adopting global financial technologies, and aiding the modernization of the country's payment infrastructure.

Dmitriy Zaika, Chief Executive Officer of ALGA Group, commented that the integration of Apple Pay aligns with the company's wider objective to enhance digital financial services.

"The introduction of Apple Pay marks a significant stride in our goal to render daily banking and payments more straightforward, swifter, and readily available for our clientele. Visa's commendation of this launch further underscores the robustness of our collaboration and O!Bank's capability to implement international financial technologies that adhere to the most stringent global benchmarks," Zaika stated.

Zaika further explained that O!Bank is incorporated into ALGA Group's digital ecosystem via the My O! Super App, which consolidates financial and digital services onto a unified platform. He indicated that the group intends to persist in developing products designed to widen access to contemporary financial services and enhance financial and digital inclusion throughout Kyrgyzstan.

ALGA Group operates in various technology sectors within Kyrgyzstan, encompassing telecommunications, broadband services, mobile payments, financial services, e-commerce, and digital marketplaces.

O!Bank delivers digital banking services to both individual and business clients, providing payment solutions, lending products, and routine banking services through digital channels. The bank affirmed its commitment to expanding its collaborations with international technology and payment providers as part of its digital banking strategy.
