No deductions will be made from teachers' salaries for the August 31 holiday - ministry

Teachers will not be deducted from their August salaries for the holiday, August 31, the press service of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education reported.
The ministry noted that various reports have been circulating on social networks regarding the salaries of teachers and employees in some schools. The ministry officially responded to this situation, noting that salaries to employees in schools are paid based on the staffing table and the number of hours allocated according to the tariff list. In this case, teachers are paid based on their monthly workload, that is, the rate, established in the tariff list.
“The current labor legislation does not provide for deductions from salaries in schools in connection with the holiday, including August 31, and an instruction has been given to pay them in full without deductions from salaries,” the ministry said in a statement.
It was also announced that salaries for the second half of August in schools and preschool educational organizations will be paid starting from August 29 in order to celebrate the holiday in a cheerful mood.
Earlier, it was reported that the 2026/2027 academic year in schools of Uzbekistan will begin on Wednesday, September 2. More than 795 thousand students who will be admitted to the first grade this year will be solemnly awarded the “President's Gift”.
