President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed that citizens of Uzbekistan be given priority when hiring for new jobs. A special platform will be launched within a month to monitor foreigners who come to the country for long-term stays.
As the head of state noted, 80% of foreigners who have received work permits in Uzbekistan are employed in construction, the production of building materials, the textile industry, and the service sector. At the same time, they perform work that does not require high qualifications.
The President emphasized that protecting the national labor market is a common practice in developed countries as well.
Currently, 36 thousand foreign citizens have obtained work permits in Uzbekistan. Another 24 thousand people residing in the country for a long period are students.
The responsible agencies have been instructed to launch a platform within a month to monitor the place of residence and work of foreigners who have arrived in Uzbekistan for a long-term stay.
