Nearly 29 thousand women are in difficult life situations — Dilnoza Kattaxonova

According to the results of an inventory conducted in 28 districts and cities of Uzbekistan, 28,600 women were classified as being in difficult life situations.

This was announced by Dilnoza Kattaxonova, Deputy Chairperson of the Family and Women's Committee, during the Senate plenary session.

As part of the pilot project, the employment and social status of more than 2 million 300 thousand women were studied. As a result, more than 2 million were classified in the stable category, while 336 thousand were identified as needing additional programs to secure employment.

28,600 women were assessed as being in difficult life situations. Among them are women on the verge of divorce, victims of harassment and violence, those facing problems in recovering alimony, and those who became mothers under the age of 18.

Currently, a similar inventory is being conducted in the remaining 186 districts and cities of the republic.
