Nearly 2 thousand doses of narcotics prevented from spreading in Tashkent region

During operational measures conducted in Tashkent region, a total of 282 grams of the narcotic substance hashish was detected. According to experts' calculations, nearly 2 thousand doses of narcotics could be prepared from this substance.

Employees of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the Tashkent City Customs Administration, in cooperation with representatives of the State Security Service, conducted operational measures in Urta Chirchiq and Angren districts.

In Urta Chirchiq district, a vehicle driven by a previously monitored individual was stopped and inspected. During the inspection, the driver did not comply with the lawful demands of the operational officers, attempted to resist, and tried to throw away a suspicious substance he had with him.

As a result of the inspection conducted in the presence of impartial witnesses, the substance was identified as 82 grams of hashish and was seized as material evidence.

In another operational measure conducted in Angren district, a vehicle driven by a suspect was inspected. 200 grams of hashish were found in a plastic bag hidden under the passenger seat of the car.

Thus, a total of 282 grams of narcotic substances were removed from illegal circulation in the two cases. Experts estimated the average black market value of this narcotic substance at 20 thousand dollars. Criminal cases have been initiated by the customs authorities regarding both cases.

It is reported that during the past period of 2026, customs authorities, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, prevented the illegal smuggling across the customs border and illicit domestic circulation of more than 1.9 tons of narcotic substances in 541 detected cases.

It was previously reported that within the framework of the second phase of the "Qoradori-2026" comprehensive operational-preventive event, controlled flights using helicopters were carried out in all regions of the republic. During the events, a total of 70 kg of narcotic plants cultivated in households were destroyed in accordance with the established procedure.
