National examinations in the native language in Uzbekistan will be held based on the current alphabet

National exams in native language in Uzbekistan will be held using the current alphabet
National certification exams in the subject "Native Language and Literature", which will take place in all regions of Uzbekistan from October 24 to 26, will be held on the basis of the current Latin version of the Uzbek alphabet.
This was reported by the Knowledge Assessment Agency.
According to the agency, the test materials have been prepared taking into account the current alphabet. It should also be used when writing answers to open-ended tasks and essays.
The agency's clarification is related to the changes in the Uzbek alphabet, which President Shavkat Mirziyoyev approved on October 21. According to the law, the updated alphabet will come into effect in six months.
The amendments provide for replacing the symbols O‘ and G‘ with the letters Ö ö and Ğ ğ, and the combinations Sh and Ch with the letters Ş ş and Ç ç. The transition to the updated alphabet will be gradual. In particular, school textbooks will begin to be converted to it in 2027, and it is planned to fully complete the transition in all grades by 2031.
