My goal is to play for Real Madrid - Behruz Karimov
The 19-year-old defender Behruz Karimov, who delivered a brilliant performance for the Uzbekistan national team at the World Cup, moved to the Swiss club "Lugano" during the summer transfer window. He signed a 5-year contract with the club. As soon as Karimov joined the team, he began playing in the starting lineup and has participated in 4 matches so far. Having won 6 and drawn 1 of their 7 matches this season, "Lugano" currently leads the Swiss championship.
The football player said that he adapted to the team very quickly.
"I adapted even faster than I expected. The coach and my teammates welcomed me very well. Knowing that I had a bit of a language barrier, they started helping me. Everyone is doing their best to help me communicate faster. I have now passed the adaptation period," Karimov says.
Speaking about why he chose "Lugano" in particular, Behruz emphasized that the main goal was to get playing practice in a European club and to continue developing.
"Before making a choice, we thought everything through carefully. After going to Europe, we did not want to sit on the bench. Therefore, the option of 'Lugano', which gives playing practice to young players, appealed to us. We also liked their style of play," says the defender.
Behruz was born in the Namangan region. Famous football players such as Odil Ahmedov, Odil Hamrobekov, and Umarali Rahmonaliyev have emerged from this region. When it comes to fame, the football player said he would not comment on this and that he has focused all his attention on his athletic career.
"I need to learn something in every game and work to achieve my future dreams," he said.
