Mortgage concessions for doctors and bonuses of up to 50 million UZS for specialists recruited from abroad established
New measures have been established in Uzbekistan to support healthcare workers and to attract qualified personnel to remote regions and specialized centers.
50 billion UZS has been allocated to cover part of the mortgage loans for employees with at least 15 years of service in the sector. Through this opportunity, 1,000 healthcare workers are expected to move into new homes next year. The system will also cover young personnel: 25 percent of the initial down payment on mortgage loans for 500 young healthcare workers will be covered annually.
Starting next year, the monthly additional bonus for all doctors working in remote regions will be increased from 2 million UZS to 4.5 million UZS. Doctors who take up jobs in such regions will be given a one-off incentive payment of 50 million UZS.
In addition, a system will be launched to recruit compatriot doctors who have gained experience in foreign clinics to the country's hospitals. A bonus of up to 50 million UZS will be added to their monthly salaries, and their workplaces will be equipped with modern equipment.
Furthermore, specialists recruited from abroad will be given the opportunity to form a strong team around them and to independently select the doctors, assistants, and nurses they work with. Their expenses for participating in prestigious conferences and exchanging experience with foreign colleagues will be covered by the state.
This system will initially launch in 26 specialized centers. The director of each center will be responsible for recruiting 5 to 10 compatriot doctors next year.
Payments ranging from 1.5 million to 2.5 million UZS will be established for nurses and male nurses with higher education, and 5.5 million UZS for narrow-field specialists in family medicine.
