Over two kilograms of marijuana seized in Karakalpakstan. Video

An illegal drug trafficking operation was foiled in the Turtkul district of Karakalpakstan. Law enforcement officers seized more than two kilograms of marijuana, and the suspect was detained while handing over the forbidden substance to another person.

The special operation was conducted by officers of the Customs Administration of Karakalpakstan together with representatives of the State Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the National Guard.

According to law enforcement officials, the detainee was previously under surveillance and was caught red-handed during the drug transfer.

During further checks, marijuana was found in several locations at once: in the suspect's car, in his house, and with another citizen. The total weight of the seized substance was 2.18 kilograms.

Investigative measures into the incident are ongoing. Further details of the case have not yet been reported.

Earlier, two containers with 7 kilograms of marijuana were found on a rented agricultural plot in the Kibray district of Tashkent Region.
