A kilogram of marijuana was found in the basement of a private house in the Tashkent region. Video

Employees of the capital's Department of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service uncovered a large batch of marijuana in the basement of a residential building near Tashkent.

The operation was carried out by officers of the Mirzo-Ulugbek District Department of Internal Affairs together with representatives of the State Security Service.

In the basement of a house belonging to a resident of the Kibray district of the Tashkent region, law enforcement officers found a kilogram of marijuana packaged in glass jars. The drug was seized in the presence of witnesses.

A criminal case has been initiated regarding this fact under the article on illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs. The suspect has been arrested and faces up to 20 years in prison.

Earlier, a man was detained in the Andijan region while attempting to sell more than 11 kilograms of marijuana.
