Manchester City want to bring back Julian Alvarez – Marca
The English club Manchester City have begun negotiations to sign Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez on loan until the end of the summer transfer window. According to Marca, the team led by Enso Maresca is planning to fill the gap in the attack with the 26-year-old Argentine player, which was left by the departures of Omar Marmush and Savino.
Initial talks have not yet turned into serious negotiations. This is due to the insistence of the Madrid club. The management of Atletico Madrid is demanding 150 million euros for Alvarez or a suitable striker in his place. In turn, Manchester City wants to rent the player with a mandatory purchase option in order to reduce this price. If the Spaniards reject this offer, the “city” will completely abandon the transfer.
Alvarez himself is currently engaged separately from the team. He missed three consecutive general training sessions. The player has now realized that it is impossible to move to Barcelona, and he has only two options: to stay in Madrid or return to England.
Madrid coach Diego Simeone did not include the striker in the squad for the match against Sevilla in the Spanish championship. The coach said that after the transfer market closes, he will talk to the player again and try to return him to the first team.
For information, Alvarez defended the honor of Manchester City from 2022 to 2024. He played in a total of 103 matches for the "city" team, scoring 36 goals and providing 19 assists.
