The Madrid club's board of directors has unanimously supported a single position on the matter. Atletico Madrid's management has stated that the club is always open to negotiations in the transfer market, but this process must be based on ethical and professional principles and mutual respect between the clubs.

It is noted that due to Barcelona's failure to comply with these requirements, no negotiations have been held regarding Alvarez and will not be held in the future.
