Manchester City are preparing a €140 million transfer — Insider

Manchester City are planning to make serious changes in the midfield. The club is planning to buy Enso Fernandes from Chelsea, while also being ready to say goodbye to Nico Gonzalez.

According to insider Gianluca di Marzio, negotiations on both transfers are currently at an active stage.

The City aim to complete the Fernandes transfer this week. Meanwhile, Chelsea have increased their financial demands for the player - initially the London club expressed their readiness to consider an offer of €120 million, but now they are demanding €140 million. The Argentine midfielder himself is interested in changing clubs and is not against continuing his career under Enso Maresca.

At the same time, Manchester City are close to selling Nico Gonzalez. The Spanish midfielder has completed his loan spell with Newcastle and is expected to sign a new contract with his new club in the near future.

Fernandes has been playing for Chelsea since January 2023. The Argentine's current contract runs until the summer of 2032. According to Transfermarkt, the 25-year-old is valued at €100 million.
