The well-known Malaysian singer, composer, and producer Hafiz Hamidun presented a new music album "Salawat. The Beloved", the video materials for which were filmed in Uzbekistan. The project has already attracted an audience of over 1.4 million viewers and introduced residents of Southeast Asia to the historical, cultural, and tourism potential of the country.
The filming took place in August in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara.
Hafiz Hamidun is a widely known performer among the Muslim audience of Malaysia and other countries in the region.
In recent years, the interest of Malaysian and other artists from Southeast Asia in implementing creative projects in Uzbekistan and promoting its historical and cultural heritage among an international audience has been growing.
The presentation of the album in Malaysia received wide media coverage. Representatives of more than 40 media outlets attended the event, and 24 electronic and print publications published materials about the presentation. About 100 posts and materials were shared on social media.
As part of the presentation, a photo exhibition dedicated to the Islamic, historical, and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan was also held.
According to Hafiz Hamidun, the new album reached more than 1.4 million viewers in a short period. The project is seen as an example of using modern media and creative formats to promote the cultural and tourism potential of Uzbekistan among the audience of Southeast Asia.
The media project was implemented in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia and the Tourism Committee. One of its goals was to introduce the public of the region to reforms in the field of religious enlightenment and modern opportunities for the development of pilgrimage tourism.
The initiative is also aimed at strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia and the ASEAN countries in the field of cultural and tourism diplomacy.
