Lugano advances to Conference League group stage, Behruzjon Karimov comes on as a substitute

Uzbek national team defender Behruzjon Karimov has qualified for the main stage of the UEFA Conference League with Swiss club Lugano.

In the second leg of the qualifying play-off round, Lugano faced Israeli team Maccabi Tel Aviv. The match ended with a score of 1:1, as a result, the Swiss club defeated its opponent 3:2 on aggregate.

In the 58th minute of the match, Lugano defender Mattia Zanotti was sent off after receiving a red card. In the 69th minute, Maccabi player Dor Peretz scored from the penalty spot, opening the scoring. In the 79th minute, Derek Moncada restored the balance. This score remained unchanged until the end of the match.

Behruzjon Karimov came on in the 82nd minute to replace Renato Steffen and showed himself well.

Lugano won the first leg of the match in Lugano 2-1.

For your information, the draw for the group stage of the Champions League will be held in Monaco on August 28. The group stage of the competition will begin on October 15.
