Liquefied gas delivery in Uzbekistan to be transferred to the private sector

In Uzbekistan, starting from 2027, the liquefied gas supply sector is planned to be handed over to the private sector across the entire republic. This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during a dialogue with investors in the energy sector.

Currently, 3 million 800 thousand households in the country use liquefied gas. Market mechanisms are being gradually introduced into this supply system, which was previously a state monopoly.

In particular, the initial pilot project with the participation of entrepreneurs was launched in Andijan region. Next year, it is planned to expand this practice across the entire republic.

The President emphasized that the continuity of gas supply, safety, and the quality of service to the population will be the most important criteria in this process.
