LLCs Dominate Uzbekistan's Business Landscape
Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) have firmly established themselves as the leading legal form for doing business in Uzbekistan.
According to data published by the National Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2026, there were 440,100 commercial organizations operating in the country. Of these, 351,600 were limited liability companies.
This means that LLCs account for 79.9% of the total number of active commercial entities in the country. In other words, almost four out of every five companies in Uzbekistan operate as LLCs.
A detailed breakdown of commercial organizations by their legal form is as follows:
* Limited Liability Companies – 351,586 (79.9%)
* Private Enterprises – 47,107 (10.7%)
* Family Businesses – 37,192 (8.5%)
* Joint Stock Companies – 644 (0.1%)
* Other Legal Forms – 3,611 (0.8%)
Thus, LLCs significantly outnumber all other forms of commercial organizations, effectively becoming the key format for doing business in Uzbekistan. The combined number of private and family businesses is significantly lower than the number of limited liability companies.
