Khiva became the platform for new agreements between Uzbekistan and Belarus
The fourth Uzbek-Belarusian interparliamentary forum, which brought together parliamentarians, representatives of regions, business circles, youth, and the expert community of the two countries, has concluded in Khiva.
Over the course of two days, participants discussed prospects for the further development of Uzbek-Belarusian interparliamentary and interregional cooperation, as well as issues of expanding business and humanitarian ties. In her speech, Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, emphasized that the new format of interaction has made it possible to expand the circle of direct participants in the partnership and strengthen the connection between parliamentary activities and the needs of regions and businesses.
Special attention during the forum was paid to the development of joint ventures, the creation of new jobs, personnel training, the expansion of educational and social opportunities, as well as support for entrepreneurial initiatives. The participants noted the importance of the consistent implementation of all agreements reached. The Interparliamentary Commission, together with relevant committees, is to regularly review the progress of the planned activities in cooperation with the respective departments, regions, and business circles.
Within the framework of the forum, contracts, agreements, and memorandums aimed at developing practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus were signed. The established business and professional contacts are expected to develop into sustainable partnerships and joint projects. Following the results of the work, the Khiva Declaration was adopted, defining common guidelines for further interaction, the provisions of which will be implemented in close connection with the signed interparliamentary "road map" for 2026–2027.
