Karakalpakstan is becoming a special mining zone, attracting over $5 billion in investment.
Six large-scale digital infrastructure projects are currently underway in the republic: three mining complexes and three data centers. The total investment in these projects reaches $5.11 billion.
According to a government decision, the entire territory of Karakalpakstan has been officially recognized as a special mining zone. These initiatives are designed to stimulate the growth of the digital economy and attract significant capital investment to the region.
At the same time, Karakalpakstan is actively developing its green energy sector. In partnership with the Saudi company ACWA Power, a $3.3 billion wind farm project is being implemented in the region. ACWA Power has confirmed its plans to build a large wind power complex in Karakalpakstan with a capacity of 1.5 GW, which will be equipped with an energy storage system.
The region is thus focusing on the integrated development of mining, data centers, and renewable energy sources, seeking to attract major investment and create a modern digital energy infrastructure.
