Kamchatka suggested that Uzbekistan develop direct trade and exchanges

Kamchatka Krai and Uzbekistan intend to expand trade ties, including the exchange of fish for fruits and vegetables, as well as to develop tourism and business contacts.

Kamchatka has proposed developing direct trade and exchanges with Uzbekistan.

Kamchatka Krai plans to strengthen economic and humanitarian ties with Uzbekistan.

Possible formats of cooperation were discussed by the head of the regional government, Yulia Morozova, and a delegation from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Vladivostok, led by Khazhiakbar Vakhabov.

The main focus of the talks was on the prospects for mutual food supplies. In particular, they discussed the possibility of sending fish from Kamchatka to Uzbekistan and supplying Uzbek fruits and vegetables to the Russian peninsula.

Morozova linked the current negotiations to the development of agreements reached in November 2024, when a delegation from the Kamchatka Krai government visited Tashkent.

During that visit, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the capital of Uzbekistan signed a protocol of intent to develop partnership relations.

To move from discussions to specific commercial projects, the meeting participants suggested organizing reciprocal business missions.

It is expected that this format will allow companies to build direct ties, find partners, and conclude contracts without intermediary structures.

In addition to trade, the parties also considered opportunities for joint work in the tourism, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.

Consul General Khazhiakbar Vakhabov stated Uzbekistan's interest in expanding contacts and developing new areas of cooperation.

Youth initiatives were also included in the agenda. Plans are underway to invite the Uzbek delegation to the All-Russian Youth Ecological Forum, which will be held in Kamchatka.
