Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Bilateral Trade Up 45 Percent
Bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan rose 45% in early 2026 to reach $624.6 million, with a long-term target set at $3 billion.
Trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has surged by 45 percent since the start of 2026, hitting US$624.6 million, as reported by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubaev to the Dunyo Information Agency.
Kulubaev noted that both countries aim to boost their annual bilateral trade to US$3 billion. He identified industrial collaboration and the enhancement of regional transportation and logistics networks as key areas for strengthening their economic ties.
The Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Forum, held on July 28, 2026, bolstered economic cooperation, culminating in 16 bilateral agreements for commercial contracts and joint investment ventures. Kulubaev also referenced an earlier memorandum on developing free economic and industrial zones, which sets the stage for joint manufacturing. Future agreements include plans for Uzbek companies to conduct geological surveys in Kyrgyzstan and establish joint agricultural clusters.
In addition to commercial endeavors, the two nations are increasing their collaboration on sustainable environmental initiatives. Uzbekistan has backed Kyrgyzstan's proposal to host the second Bishkek+25 Global Mountain Summit in 2027, with both countries working together on preserving mountain ecosystems.
The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister underscored that bilateral relations have reached an unparalleled level of strategic alliance, following the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations during the Uzbek President's state visit to Kyrgyzstan.
