Mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has increased by 45%, reaching $624.6 million since the beginning of 2026, according to Dunyo News Agency, citing a statement by Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev.

According to the Kyrgyz Foreign Minister, both countries have set an ambitious goal of increasing trade turnover to $3 billion. Kulubayev highlighted the expansion of industrial cooperation and the development of transport and logistics corridors as key areas for further deepening cooperation.

The Kyrgyz-Uzbek business forum, held on July 28, made a significant contribution to strengthening economic ties. During this event, 16 documents were signed concerning the implementation of joint projects and trade agreements. Kulubayev also mentioned a previously signed memorandum of cooperation in the development of free economic and industrial zones, which provides for joint investment projects for the production of various products. Uzbek companies plan to conduct geological exploration in Kyrgyzstan and create joint agricultural clusters.

In addition to trade and economic cooperation, the parties are actively developing collaboration in the area of sustainable development. Uzbekistan expressed support for holding the second international mountain summit "Bishkek+25" in 2027, and Kulubayev noted the fruitful cooperation between the two countries in protecting mountain ecosystems.

The Kyrgyz Foreign Minister emphasized that relations between the two countries have reached an unprecedented high in recent years following the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations during the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan.
