Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan intend to increase mutual trade to $1 billion.
On August 19, Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbekistan Rashad Mammadov. During the meeting, the parties analyzed the current state of bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
In 2025, trade turnover between the two countries reached $307.3 million, an increase of 14.6 percent. For the period from January to June 2026, this figure amounted to $170.3 million, a 30.8 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year. Particular attention was paid to the preparation of documents aimed at deepening cooperation, in particular, the Roadmap for the implementation of the agreements reached and the Program for increasing mutual trade turnover to $1 billion by 2030. In addition, the meeting participants discussed the organizational aspects of the upcoming 4th Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum, which will be held on August 22 in Tashkent. This event is intended to serve as a platform for expanding ties between the regions and business communities of both countries. Following the talks, further steps were outlined to promote investment projects and strengthen interregional relations.
