The memorial to the victims of World War II in Chimbay, as claimed by the leader of the Milliy Tiklanish party, Alisher Kadyrov, is located on the site of a mass grave of local residents. The politician believes that during the Soviet period, the history of this site was distorted, and he once again criticized the Cultural Heritage Agency for its attitude toward historical sites.

According to Kadyrov, this burial is linked to the mass death of Chimbay residents as a result of the actions of the troops of the Bolshevik general Shaydakov. According to him, the dead included men, women, the elderly, and children.

The politician believes that during the Soviet era, a memorial to the victims of World War II was established on this site, which caused the original history of the burial to be concealed. He attributes this decision to the ideological policy of that period.

At the same time, in his publication, Kadyrov does not provide documents or other evidence to support the version of the mass grave and the circumstances of the people's deaths.

The public polemic between Alisher Kadyrov and the Cultural Heritage Agency began after his statements regarding whether house No. 7 on Babur Street in Tashkent should be preserved. In response, the agency stated that the historical value of the site is determined by its protection status, legislation, and professional expertise. Following this, Kadyrov expanded his criticism, raising questions about the condition of other cultural heritage sites and the spending of budget funds.
