ITOCHU and Deutsche Bank join Foreign Investors Council of Uzbekistan

Japan's ITOCHU Corporation and Deutsche Bank AG have become members of the Foreign Investors Council under the President of Uzbekistan.

The decision to include the new members was made on November 4 at a meeting of the Council's Executive Committee, chaired by Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade. It was also attended by the Head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) office in Uzbekistan Andi Aranitasi, Country Director of the Asian Development Bank Kanokpan Lao-Araya, Regional Head of the International Finance Corporation Neil McCain, and Head of the Council's Secretariat Aziz Gafurov.

Participants discussed the report on the Secretariat's work for the first ten months of 2026. In particular, they addressed the activities of ten interagency working groups, the promotion of investor initiatives, the creation of the Regional Alliance of Investment Councils of Central Asia and the Caucasus (RAIC-CAC), and cooperation with business associations.

Currently, the Council unites more than 40 companies and financial institutions from over 15 countries.

The meeting also approved the work plan through the end of 2027. It includes holding about 70 working group meetings, interim sessions of the Council on November 25, 2026, May 18, and November 23, 2027, as well as the fifth plenary session on June 14–16, 2027.

In addition, a meeting of the RAIC-CAC is scheduled for April 9, 2027, in Tashkent, and the presentation of the Investment Outlook is expected early next year.

The Council's annual report for 2026 will be presented on December 16 at the FIC Year-end Session.

The document is planned to include the results of a nationwide survey of more than 1,000 respondents on the impact of foreign investment on Uzbekistan's economy, conducted by the ministry.
