It was revealed that nearly 125 million soums in excess funds were collected from citizens through the overpricing of paid services at medical institutions in Namangan, Samarkand, and Navoiy. Instructions were issued to the three institutions to refund the funds.

The Competition Committee has identified violations of legislative requirements in setting prices for paid services at three medical institutions in Namangan, Samarkand, and Navoiy regions.
During the investigations, it was recorded that nearly 125 million soums were unjustifiably collected from citizens.
In particular, at the Namangan Regional Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center, it was found that a total of 34.3 million soums was unjustifiably collected from 416 consumers for ultrasound services in February, March, and April of 2026. According to the Committee, these funds were collected without conducting the next scheduled calibration check.
According to Article 10 of the Law "On the Protection of Consumer Rights," setting different prices, including artificially inflating or deflating them, for the same volume and quality of work and services is prohibited.
An investigation conducted at the Kattakurgan District Health Department of Samarkand region revealed that nearly 55.7 million soums in excess funds were taken from patients as a result of increasing the prices of paid medical services in 2024–2025 without complying with established procedures.
Additionally, at the Navoiy regional branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health, cases of increasing the prices of paid medical services in 2023–2025 without complying with established requirements were identified. As a result, nearly 35 million soums in excess funds were collected from patients.
According to the Committee, cases have been initiated in accordance with the established procedure against these three medical institutions by the special commissions of the regional departments of Namangan, Samarkand, and Navoiy regions.
The institutions have been given mandatory instructions to reformulate tariffs based on current procedures and requirements, optimize prices, and return nearly 125 million soums to consumers.
Earlier, the Competition Committee conducted an investigation into prices at 8 medical institutions and found that 285.4 million soums in excess had been collected from more than 127,000 patients.
The agency initiated cases against six hospitals and ensured an average reduction of 5–10% in the prices of services.
