It takes 250 million soums of credit to lift every person out of poverty in Piskent
Over the past three years, 314 trillion soums have been allocated to entrepreneurial projects in makhallas. However, the impact of loans on poverty reduction is not felt equally in all districts, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said at a meeting on September 3.

In Piskent district, 250 million soums of credit are being allocated to lift each citizen out of poverty.
The meeting conducted a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of the allocated credit resources by districts.
In the past period, Sharof Rashidov and Karshi districts were provided with the same amount of credit resources - 2 trillion 300 billion soums.
In Sharof Rashidov district, 30 thousand residents were lifted out of poverty at the expense of these funds, which amounted to an average of 78 million soums per person. In Karshi district, the conditions of 13 thousand needy people improved, and an average of 176 million soums were spent per person.
Qamashi and Piskent districts were provided with credits of 1 trillion 100 billion soums. In Qamashi, 28 thousand poor residents were lifted out of this category, and in Piskent, only 4.5 thousand.
It was noted that a similar situation is observed in the districts of Guzar, Nishon, Mubarak, Yangikurgan, Toyloq, Boysun, Altinsoy, Bandikhon, Beshariq, Fergana, and the cities of Nurafshon, Bekabad, and Yangiyul.
It was noted that in Piskent, a loan of 250 million soums is needed to lift each person out of poverty. However, it was noted that in other regions, high-income permanent jobs are being created in industry for the same amount of money.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev criticized some regional leaders for not having the knowledge or patience to effectively use the available resources at their disposal and employ people.
It was noted that they do not properly understand the fluctuations and rapid changes in the modern economy.
Of the 86,000 small businesses established in the regions over the past year, 15,000, or 17 percent, have ceased operations.
It was noted that 62 thousand residents who received loans from banks and were unable to run their businesses are having difficulty repaying their loans.
The reason for this was indicated as only 1 thousand assistant khokims and mahalla bankers in the mahalla know how to work on the basis of a "project approach".
The number of needy people in Uzbekistan has decreased to 1.5 million, the President noted.
