Israeli footballer received a red card for his action during a goal celebration

Israeli national team forward Sayed Abu Farchi was sent off during the UEFA Nations League League B Group 3 match against Austria due to his action while celebrating a goal. The Israeli national team lost to Austria with a score of 1:3.

In the match held at the "Raiffeisen Arena" stadium in Linz, Austria, the hosts opened the scoring thanks to a penalty goal by Romano Schmid. Abu Farchi equalized the score in the 55th minute with a header.

During the goal celebration, the 20-year-old footballer took the corner flag and gestured as if using it as a weapon. The referee had shown him a yellow card just four minutes prior. Therefore, Abu Farchi received a second yellow card for his action during the celebration and was sent off. As a result, Israel played the remainder of the match with 10 players.

The Austrian players made effective use of their opponent being one man down. In the 90th minute, Philipp Mwene made the score 2:1 following a pass from Paul Wanner. In stoppage time, Sasa Kalajdzic scored from close range, securing a 3:1 victory for Austria.
