"Islom Bukharskiy", a cafe brawl, and $3,000 – MIA officers who tried to cover up a crime sentenced in Chirchiq
Two MIA officers have been prosecuted in the city of Chirchiq.
According to the court verdict, victim Sh.M. went to a cafe named "Bek" in Chirchiq city with an acquaintance on February 17, 2026, to have a meal. At that moment, an intoxicated woman in the main hall of the cafe began arguing with those around her. She also got into a dispute with the female administrator. Attempting to stop the brawl, Sh.M. tried to separate the women. The intoxicated woman then pushed him away, saying, "Don't interfere, get out of here."
Shortly after, that same woman came up to the table where Sh.M. was sitting, took photos of everyone, and left, stating, "My son Umid and Islom Bukharskiy are coming now."
Approximately 20 minutes later, several individuals arrived at the cafe. They told Sh.M. that "Islom Bukharskiy" was calling him outside. Sh.M. went outside and approached him.
"I saw that about 10 young men had come with him. MIA Patrol and Guard Service (PPX) officers were also standing with them. Upon seeing me, 'Islom Bukharskiy' said, 'Alright, you can go back inside.' At that point, as one of the guys pulled my arm to turn me toward him, Umid unexpectedly punched me in the jaw from behind. I fell to the ground. The guys helped me up. I went inside the cafe and washed off the bleeding parts.
Then, when I went outside, everyone had already left. While I was standing by the roadside to catch a taxi to go home, a white Gentra with its license plates removed pulled up to me. A person who introduced himself as Islom got out from the passenger side. He said, 'Umid is my friend; if you have a grievance, settle it, we'll see each other tomorrow,' and gave me his phone number.
After that, 4-5 of those guys arrived. Among them, I recognized the one nicknamed 'Gera' (Qurbonali Suponov - editor's note). They tried to put me into an Epika car parked in the cafe parking lot. I ran away from them. They chased me. After running for about a kilometer, I got tired and stopped. The individuals who came after me in the car got out, and 'Gera' hit me with a punch. The rest kicked me with their feet. After that, I don't remember what happened," Sh.M. stated in his court testimony.
The beaten Sh.M. was taken by ambulance to the Chirchiq city central hospital. Subsequently, MIA officers arrived and took him to the MIA building located in the area where the brawl occurred.
