Iran sets 7 conditions for the US to resume negotiations

The terms differ from the contents of the memorandum concluded in Islamabad in June. Tehran stated that negotiations will not begin until the demands are met.

**Iran sets 7 conditions for the US to resume negotiations**

Iran has stated that it will enter into negotiations only if the US accepts its seven conditions. This was announced by the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Mohsen Rezaee, on state television.

“We have made it clear that there will be no negotiations until Washington meets Tehran’s demands. We presented our seven conditions to the US. These conditions differed from the content of the Islamabad Memorandum,” Rezaee said.

According to him, Iran “must punish” the US. Otherwise, other countries might also conclude that similar military attacks could be launched against Iran. Rezaee did not rule out that the country might withdraw from the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons if military actions against Iran resume in the future.

“On the nuclear issue, we will first discuss our rights, not the restrictions imposed on Iran. If a potential war breaks out in the future, it is currently unknown whether we will remain in the treaty,” he said.

At the same time, Rezaee stressed that no new decisions had been made regarding Iran's nuclear doctrine.

It should be recalled that on February 28, the US and Israel struck targets in Iran, to which Tehran responded with airstrikes. In mid-June, the parties signed a memorandum in Islamabad to cease hostilities. It implies that Iran will never possess nuclear weapons.
