In Uzbekistan, the nighttime electricity tariff has been increased and the daytime tariff has been reduced for large consumers

Uzbekistan has revised electricity tariffs for large consumers. Starting September 24, the cost of electricity for them is determined by a new ratio of tariffs depending on the time of day: the night rate has increased, while the daytime rate during half-peak hours has, conversely, decreased. These changes are established by a decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated September 22. The document amended the procedure for calculating the cost of electricity by time of day for Group I consumers.
This category includes large electricity consumers with a connected capacity of 750 kilowatts and above. For them, the price of electricity depends on the time of day.
For large consumers of the I tariff group, night-time electricity previously cost about 733 soums per kilowatt-hour, and now it costs 1.1 thousand. At the same time, during the day, in half-peak hours, the opposite change occurred: the cost decreased from 1.1 thousand to about 733 soums per kilowatt-hour.
For regular consumers, this change does not directly affect anything. Separate tariffs apply to the population, depending on the volume of monthly consumption.
At the same time, the increase in the cost of electricity for large enterprises could theoretically increase their expenses. In the future, this may affect the cost price of the goods or services they produce, but the decree does not provide for an automatic price increase for the population.
In addition, the decree introduces the status of an "exemplary consumer." Organizations that meet the established requirements and have no debts or violations will be able to pay 15% of the consumption amount in advance instead of a full prepayment.
