Industrial development of regions discussed in Uzbekistan
In Uzbekistan, tasks have been defined to increase the industrial and export potential of the regions, create jobs, and develop new production facilities.
On September 3, Uzbekistan hosted a seminar dedicated to industrial development in the regions, the effective use of existing potential, and improving the work of regional industrial headquarters.
The event was attended by Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance.
Participants discussed the current system of industrial development in the regions, existing problems, and mechanisms for their resolution. Special attention was paid to increasing the production and export potential of enterprises, implementing new projects, and identifying "growth points" in the regions.
One of the main focus areas was data-driven industrial development planning. In addition, the regular monitoring of enterprise activities, the involvement of small companies in cooperation with large industrial enterprises, the deep processing of local raw materials, and the expansion of value chains were discussed.
During the seminar, proposals for more effective use of industrial zones and small industrial centers were reviewed. Participants also discussed mechanisms for targeted support of exporting enterprises and opportunities to attract international brands to the regions.
Special attention was paid to the application of artificial intelligence technologies for analyzing and forecasting industrial development processes.
Following the event, priority tasks were identified to more fully unlock the industrial potential of the regions.
These include creating new jobs, increasing export volumes and expanding the geography of supplies, boosting the production of import-substituting products, and increasing the competitiveness of regional industry.
