Uzbekistan aims to increase its GDP to $180 billion.

During an open dialogue with entrepreneurs in Khorezm today, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced plans to increase the country's GDP to $180 billion and exports to $40 billion this year. He emphasized that maintaining high growth rates is critical for Uzbekistan's 40 million people.
To achieve these ambitious goals, each region has been assigned a specific specialization:
* Tashkent will develop as a center for export-oriented business.
* The Andijan, Fergana, and Namangan regions will focus on mechanical engineering and a full cycle of textile production.
* The Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khorezm regions will develop tourism, agro-industrial complex, and creative industries.
* The Navoi and Tashkent regions will focus on mining, metallurgy, and chemical industries.
* The Kashkadarya and Surkhandarya regions will develop the petrochemical and agro-industrial complex. * The Jizzakh and Syrdarya regions will form clusters for the automotive, electrical engineering, and construction materials industries.
* Karakalpakstan will focus on green energy, information technology, and artificial intelligence.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed confidence that these measures will enable entrepreneurs to reach a new level of development, and that citizens will no longer need to travel abroad to find work.
