In Uzbekistan, the procedure for issuing invitations to compatriots living abroad, as well as to their family members, has been simplified. In addition, the procedure for issuing biometric travel documents to stateless persons has been established. This was reported by Norma.

The changes are enshrined in the Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 579 of October 20, 2026. The document came into force on October 21.

Applications can be submitted through the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services (EPIGU) or Public Service Centers. The review of documents takes two working days. After this, the authorized body prepares an electronic conclusion within seven working days.

An electronic invitation with a QR code is sent to the applicant. Its validity period is three months from the date of issue.

A separate regulation establishes the procedure for issuing biometric travel documents for stateless persons residing in Uzbekistan. After reviewing the application, the competent authority notifies the applicant of the need to submit biographical data, a digital photo, and fingerprints. This requirement applies to persons over 16 years of age.

Upon receiving the notification, the applicant is obliged to submit the necessary documents through a Public Service Center or the EPIGU within one month.
