Since 2016, 25,339 people have been granted Uzbek citizenship, and more than 66,000 have had their citizenship recognized.

Since 2016, 25,339 stateless persons have been granted citizenship of the country by decrees of the President of Uzbekistan. In 2020-2026, another 66,189 persons were considered for recognition of Uzbek citizenship and issued ID cards.

Since 2016, 25,339 people have been granted Uzbek citizenship, and more than 66,000 people have been granted citizenship.

According to the Department of Migration and Personalization under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, since December 2016, 25,339 stateless persons have been granted citizenship in Uzbekistan. In addition, from 2020 to the present, 66,189 more people have been granted Uzbek citizenship.

In particular, from December 2016 to the present, a total of 25,339 stateless persons have been granted Uzbek citizenship based on 117 decrees of the President of Uzbekistan.

Since 2020, a procedure for recognizing citizenship of stateless persons permanently residing in Uzbekistan has been introduced. This process was carried out in the following areas:

* The documents of 24,456 persons who had immigrated to Uzbekistan and registered permanently before January 1, 1995 were reviewed and they were issued with a passport or identification ID card of a citizen of Uzbekistan.

* The identification ID card of a citizen of Uzbekistan was issued to 22,692 persons who had immigrated to Uzbekistan and registered at their place of permanent residence before January 1, 2005 and who did not previously hold citizenship of another state.

* The documents of 19,041 persons were reviewed and issued with an identification ID card of a citizen of Uzbekistan based on the applications of persons who have been permanently residing in Uzbekistan for at least 15 years and have not held citizenship of another state during this period, as well as children whose one parent is recognized as a citizen of Uzbekistan, who have not accepted citizenship of another state and live in Uzbekistan.

A total of 66,189 individuals have been recognized and documented in these three areas.

Currently, applications from 1,795 individuals seeking Uzbek citizenship are being considered in accordance with the procedure established by law. Of these, 401 have applied for recognition of citizenship.
