In Uzbekistan, the procedure for early retirement for laid-off employees has been approved

In Uzbekistan, certain categories of laid-off employees will be eligible for early old-age pension if they are unable to find suitable employment within three months. This right is provided for men aged 58 to 60 with a work experience of at least 25 years, and for women aged 53 to 55 with a work experience of at least 20 years.

The procedure was established by a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated September 28, 2026.

To apply for early retirement, an application must be submitted through the Single Portal of Interactive Public Services. A copy of the order on the termination of the employment contract must be attached to the application. If the work experience has not yet been fully digitized, a copy of the employment record book will also be required.

The local employment authority will verify the documents within two working days and register the applicant as a job seeker. Then, for three months, they will search for suitable employment for the applicant. If employment cannot be secured within this period, the person will be recognized as unemployed, and the documents for granting the early pension will be forwarded to the Pension Fund. It is noted that this public service is provided free of charge.

Once the pension is granted, the payment of unemployment benefits ceases starting from the following month.
