In Uzbekistan, the list of companies of special significance to society and the economy has been updated

In Uzbekistan, 449 enterprises have been included in the register of public interest entities. To make the list, large companies must meet requirements regarding assets, revenue, and employee headcount. Meanwhile, Yandex, Wildberries, UzIMEI, and Turon were not included in the list.

The country maintains a special status for Public Interest Entities (PIEs). This category includes companies that have a noticeable impact on the economy and society and are important to a wide range of stakeholders.

This status was introduced by a presidential decree. The register is compiled by the Ministry of Economy and Finance based on data from the Tax Committee and other state bodies.

The list includes companies whose shares are listed on the stock exchange, commercial banks, microfinance and payment organizations, investment funds, exchanges, and large enterprises with state participation.

Other companies may be included in the list if, over the past two calendar years, their assets and net revenue amounted to at least 440 billion soums each, and their average annual employee headcount was no less than 500 people.

When compiling the register based on the results of 2024 and 2025, financial reporting data submitted to the tax authorities was taken into account. According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, 449 enterprises meet the established criteria.

Yandex, Wildberries, UzIMEI, and Turon were not included in the register under the business size criterion, as the average number of employees in these companies over the past two years did not reach 500 people.

The register of public interest entities will be updated regularly.

The register of public interest entities in Uzbekistan was published for the first time in June this year. At that time, it included 425 organizations.
