Uzbekistan increases income threshold for electricity and gas compensation
In Uzbekistan, social support measures for the population will be expanded as part of a phased transition to market principles in the fuel and energy sector. This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
When assessing the needs of families, the permissible level of average monthly income per person will be increased.
In particular:
when granting compensation for electricity and natural gas consumption, the income threshold was raised from 1.5 to 2 minimum consumer expenditure amounts (from 1.072 million to 1.43 million sums);
when providing financial assistance to cover part of the costs of purchasing coal — from 1 to 2 minimum consumer expenditure amounts (from 715 thousand to 1.43 million sums);
when covering utility expenses through the "Saxovat va ko'mak" fund, paying off utility debts, as well as compensating for the costs of providing coal or other types of fuel — from 1 to 2 minimum consumer expenditure amounts (from 715 thousand to 1.43 million sums).
In addition, the period for compensating the difference between tariffs within the basic consumption norm for electricity and natural gas and tariffs set for consumption above the basic norm has been extended until April 1, 2028.
The period for paying financial assistance to cover part of the costs of purchasing coal was also extended until January 1, 2029.
It was previously reported that in Uzbekistan, some needy families will be paid 1 million sums each.
