In Uzbekistan, socially significant projects will be provided with free access to AI infrastructure

Universities, scientific organizations, startups, and advisors to khokims responsible for the development of digital technologies and AI will be able to use the artificial intelligence infrastructure of the Ministry of Digital Technologies for free or under preferential terms. To do so, projects must pass a competitive selection process.

The procedure for granting benefits is established by a government decree.

For projects working with large language models, free access to the software interface is provided for up to six months. In each calendar month, it will be possible to process up to 10 million tokens — units of text that the AI works with.

If a project requires more resources, an additional up to 50 million tokens per month can be used. A 50% discount is set for this volume. Unused tokens will not be carried over to the next month.

To work with other artificial intelligence models not related to large language models, it will be possible to receive up to 120 gigabytes of video memory for six months. These resources are intended for model training, testing, validation, evaluation, and running computations.

Project selection will take place on a competitive basis twice a year — in July and November. Applications will be evaluated on a 100-point scale.

Participants who disagree with the results will be able to submit an electronic complaint to the appeals commission within three business days after the announcement of the results. Five business days are allocated for considering the appeal.

A single user will be able to run only one project at a time. The obtained data is prohibited from being used outside the established purposes, transferred to third parties, or used for commercial purposes, unless otherwise provided by law or contract.

In addition, Uzbekistan plans to train one million young people annually in robotics, game development, startup creation, and other promising fields.
