Uzbekistan to attract $6 billion in AI by 2030
Uzbekistan has signed agreements to attract over $6 billion in private investment in AI and create an 800 MW computing infrastructure.
Uzbekistan plans to attract over $6 billion in private investment in artificial intelligence by 2030, First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies Oleg Pekos announced in an interview with the Uzbekistan 24 television channel.
As part of these projects, computing infrastructure with a total capacity of 800 MW will be created. Pekos clarified that a significant portion of these funds will be allocated to developing AI infrastructure, and computing capacity will be gradually deployed in various regions of the country.
The current utilization rate of existing computing infrastructure in Uzbekistan is nearly 90%. Additional capacity is expected to be launched in November, and another infrastructure facility is planned for commissioning by the end of 2026.
Pekos also emphasized the need for government agencies to ensure their IT infrastructures can meet the growing demand for computing capacity.
At the same time, exports in the field of artificial intelligence are actively developing. While there were 24 exporting companies at the Tashkent IT Park in 2024, their number has now increased to 160.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, Uzbek artificial intelligence products are already exported to 80 countries.
