More than 29 thousand marriages were dissolved in Uzbekistan within seven months

In the first seven months of 2026, 29 thousand 353 cases of divorce were registered in Uzbekistan. This figure is 1 thousand 470 or 5 percent higher compared to the same period last year.

This was announced at the Senate plenary session by the Deputy Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Family and Women's Committee, Dilnoza Kattakhonova.

According to her, there are currently more than 10 million 505 thousand families in the country. In the seven months of this year, 115 thousand 879 new marriages were registered.

At the same time, the growth rate of divorces has decreased compared to the beginning of the year. Specifically, while this figure stood at 11 percent in January, it dropped to 5 percent by July.

The number of divorces increased in Jizzakh, Samarkand, and Surxondaryo, while a decrease was observed in Namangan and Andijan.
