In Uzbekistan, making excessive noise from 23:00 to 07:00 on weekdays has been banned

In Uzbekistan, making noise above the limit is prohibited on weekdays from 23:00 to 07:00
On September 9, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed the law "On protecting the population from the harmful effects of noise." This was reported by the Ministry of Justice.
According to the law, restrictions are established on sounds that exceed the permissible noise level and disturb the peace and normal rest of citizens. Such noises include domestic activities in residential areas, work at construction sites, construction equipment and vehicles, as well as noise generated by the movement of various types of transport.
According to the established procedure, disturbing the peace of citizens by making sounds that exceed the permissible noise level is not allowed on weekdays from 23:00 to 07:00, and on weekends and non-working holidays from 22:00 to 09:00.
Also, the permissible noise level is defined as a level that does not significantly disturb a person and does not lead to serious changes in the functional systems of the human body and noise-sensitive organs. Its specific criteria are determined based on sanitary rules and norms.
The Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health under the Ministry of Health has been designated as the competent state body in the field of protecting the population from the harmful effects of noise.
Compensation for damage caused by the harmful effects of noise can be recovered through court proceedings. The law will enter into force three months after the date of its official publication.
In Uzbekistan, permissible noise levels in residential buildings and residential areas are established by legislation. According to current sanitary standards:
during the day (from 07:00 to 23:00) — the noise level must not exceed 55 dBA;
at night (from 23:00 to 07:00) — the noise level must not exceed 45 dBA.
These standards are approved in the document "Sanitary Rules and Norms" (SanQvaM 0008-20).
As a reminder, this law was considered in the chambers of the Oliy Majlis in the second half of 2024.
