In Uzbekistan, Demand for Export Freight Transportation Increased by One-Third
Interest in cargo delivery from Uzbekistan to other countries, as well as in transport within the republic, has grown significantly. At the same time, import routes are demonstrating instability: a decline was observed in July-August, followed by a sharp surge in September.
At the end of the third quarter of 2026, the number of requests for transport from Uzbekistan to other countries increased by 29% compared to the same period in 2025. Over the 9 months of 2026, growth was also noted (+11%), with positive dynamics recorded in all three quarters. The most noticeable increase in demand was for cargo delivery to Russia — by 26%, and especially to Belarus — by 80%.
Rates for export transportation in the third quarter rose by 10% year-on-year.
Import freight transportation shows a more mixed picture. Over the 9 months of 2026, a noticeable growth in demand for cargo delivery from other countries to Uzbekistan persists (+16% in terms of request numbers year-on-year); however, a decrease of 8% was recorded in the third quarter.
July and August were weak months, but in September demand soared sharply (+39%). A particularly noticeable surge in September was noted on the Russian route (+47%), although this did not offset the decline in July-August. As a result, in the third quarter, the number of requests for cargo delivery from Russia decreased by 4%.
Prices for import transportation in the third quarter remained almost unchanged year-on-year (+2%).
Demand for domestic freight transportation continues to grow steadily. Thus, in the third quarter of 2026, the number of requests for cargo delivery within Uzbekistan increased by 12% compared to the second quarter. The statistics are influenced not only by market factors, but also by the growing number of users of the ATI.SU platform — more and more Uzbek cargo owners and carriers are abandoning manual processes in favor of digital services.
"We are observing a continuation of confident growth in demand for freight transportation, which also corresponds to official statistics (+43% in turnover in the first half of the year). In international transport, the situation remains most difficult on the Russian route, which is the most massive for Uzbekistan, where the fuel crisis became the main negative factor in the summer. This particularly affected imports from Russia. In September, the situation with diesel fuel improved, and this largely explains the rise in demand on this route," comments Farid Vakhidov, Director of the representative office of the international "ATI.SU Logistics Platform" in Uzbekistan.
